Thanks Sabot for posting the pics. Ok, there are a few hogs in the pic. There was two other guys with me on the hunt so I didn't do all the slaying by myself, but it was a blast on what I did do. These pics were from the first night, we shot 8 hogs that night. It did take us a while to clean them all too!!
As far as my load, I had been shooting a 100 grains of BH 209 with the TMZ's and the group was just a little over an inch with the gun the first range session out. I know I could get it better but just didn't have the time on that occassion, it was very cold and windy that weekend in Missouri, but I was still very impressed for the first time that the gun had been shot. I then got to talking to Sabotloader and GM 120 and thought I would try the Lehigh 275 grainer. I really liked the way the bullet looked but was a little unsure of how well it would fly out to 250 yards so I upped my powder charge to 110 grains of powder and was getting about 1 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at a 120 yards. Not by no means great but good enough for me to shoot at hogs. I did not even try the 100 grain charge but I'm planning on playing with the powder a little to find that sweet spot. I was also using CCI primers and plan on trying some Winchesters also. I will say this, those bullets outperformed by greatest expectation of them. I didn't take any pics of the internal "MESS" these bullets caused, but let me tell you, they performed. I really liked my 290 grain TMZ's for the energy and the way they flew at 200 yards, but I think that I will get just as good of results with the Lehighs!! I'm SOLD!!!!!
