I know what you mean I had a similar situation saturday. the buck i shot stopped behind a tree for atleast 45 sec maybe aminute before he stepped out and offered me a shot. At the time I knew I should let down and not shoot but I did anyway. Hit ended up being good but I still know I should not have taken the shot. Its a tough thing to do sometimes though.

I would imagine that the doe will make it. Did you find all of your arrow or only part of it? Hopefully it didnt break off inside her, i think that woudl be the biggest problem. If the arrow is out and she made it 16 hours then I think she will probably recover.
