Powerbelt Aerolite -Recovery test Part2
No pics yet guys, just spent a couple hours on the range shooting my newphews Wolf and decided to take a few shots into my sand bucket after i filled it up.
First shot i was unable to recover the bullet, not clue where it went in the sand but i couldnt find it.
I decided then to line the front of the bucket with 2" damp news paper left over from my last test. Filled the rest of the bucket with damp sand and fired a couple shots.
First bullet i recovered still had the ballistic tip attached and held fairly thick center retained 287 grains out of 300gr.
Second bullet recovered lost its tip, over expanded greatly and was paper thin in the center. Recovered weight was 275gr Out of 300gr.
After recovering that first bullet, i think if they'd have used a ballistic tip with the threaded shaft like my inserts use, this would be perfect and would not over expand.
Im going outside now to take some pictures of the bullets i recovered.
The Wolf with 100gr Blackhorn209 kept the 300's in an 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" group @ 100 yards. I plan on using the 250s in this rifle mainly.
