when the 243 was introduced the standard twist was 1/10, remember the 244 rem? it was a 12 twist, wouldn't stabilize bullets over 90 gr.
I'm a firm believer that overstabilization doesn't happen to the point you could tell it without a micrometer, my 223 8 twist will outshoot my 9,10, and 12 twist 223's with 55 gr bullets, and its a long throated wylde chamber, but still shoots into the .2's pretty often with cheap reman ammo.
