Nuge, I was sitting on the front rail of my summitt last night. If you are not comfortable standing too far away from the tree sit on the rail I don' t think it will slip on you if you have properly positioned it at attached the safety belt around the seat portion. Get you an ez hangar for your bow. Wal-Mart carries one that is about 10 bucks and they are easy to install and are very helpful. Good luck
