Extreme overkill or what?

Tom
I have had a T/C Contender barrel chambered in 375 JDJ base mounting holes opened up to take 8-40's and also several tactical rifle setups opened up to take the oversize 8-40tpi over the standard 6-48. Doing so will help keep the base secured to the firearm in rough conditions. I had the scope and base shear off the 375 JDJ while shooting it, the scope clocked me right in the eye before falling to the ground. It hasnt happened since going to the bigger screws.
