I hunted elk in unit 76 Colorado in 2004, and at that time it was excellent at that time.... We went 2 for 3 on a MZ hunt and the third fellow passed up several legal bulls waiting for a big one...
The DOW office in Creede was very helpful and would be a good source of up to date info on that unit..
