Is your frizzen loose enough? Does it fly open when the flint hits it?
Are you changing you flint because you are not getting spark? Do you put gun oil on the face of the frizzen? If so, do you wipe it off with alcohol or other degreaser prior to shooting? I prefer to never put any type of oil on my frizzen and a tiny bit of gun grease on where the pivot point and spring meet.
Not sure about the adjustment. I think i set it so it is just about touching the frizzen. I'll have to check. It is chipping the edge of the flint pretty good. So i guess that could be it. So i'm guessing what your suggesting is it should just scape the frizzen not strike it hard? I only hunt with it a few times a years. Guess i need to spend more time with it. The frizzen is loose enough. What do you mean (fly open) I never watched it. But it does open. I just learned about wiping the flint and frizzen with alcohol after a few shots. I always just cleaned with my powder slovent.
