Default VA hunting

Hey Ron welcome to a sport that will last a life time. I live in Norfolk, VA. First thing is you should have got a 12 gauge shotgun because most county's in Virginia are shotgun only county's. There are some that allow rifle but just a few I know of. Get a hunting rules book from wherever you get your hunting license and do your reserch. I hunt mostley state land and military bases such as Fort AP Hill, and Fort Pickett. Read sights such as this, and many others about hunting and maybe join a hunting club. Start asking people you know, or work with about land to hunt on for next year. I often train new hunters by taking them squirrel hunting. Stalking squirrel will make you a much better deer hunter, and you still get the chance to see deer and learn land for next year.
