Thumbs up Another Great season done.

I hunt with my son and best friend on my land. All 10.5 acres of it. We border some really great deer land and are locked up so little development interferes even though we are in a suburban area. I bought this little slice of haven about 7 years ago. This was our best year ever. Here are the totals:

Me: 8 pointer with a bow. My first big Buck with a bow and a really pretty one at that. (See Pic) and a button buck that was impersonating a doe (Dang it!)

Jim: Two Does

Evan (13): his first black Powder deer and it was a nice 6 pointer and a doe

6 Total deer in the freezer. Most ever for us for one season. We let the does walk in the early seasons of bow and black powder to help keep bucks around but once gun season opens, we do our thing to thin out the over population and stock the freezer. All bucks under 6 points have a free pass for us. We must have let at least 6 that I know of go this season along with a BIG 7 that either got taken by someone else or got smart. He disappeared after gun opened up.

We’ll get the food plots going good again in the spring and get those cams out to see who made it and what’s still around and we have plans to set out shed traps in around Mid Feb.
