It would be a .54 for me too. I agree with no patchbox - let the pretty wood show. Early Lancaster is darn nice with a wide buttplate. I know that style calls for brass, but I don't care so much about period correctness. If it were my build I would go with steel furniture just `cause I like browned steel.
