Default Old Ben Pearson Longbow

Hey guys,

This past spring my wife and I took a trip to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We stopped at an antique shop in Maryland that had a pair of old Ben Pearson Longbows for sale. Now, we went to the same antique shop on our honeymoon exactly 1 year earlier. We talked to the cashier at the time and the price on our honeymoon was $70 each..... I didn't bite. This spring on our anniversary, we had one of the guys that does the work on alot of the antiques in the place show us around for about 2 hours. Just for kicks I asked him how much the bows were (yes, they were still there in the same exact spot). $30 for the pair! Sold....

Anyway, my question is about the age of the bows. I found a website a while ago that showed how you can tell the vintage of a Ben Pearson based on the logo. I remember being able to pinpoint the year the bows were made because the logo was all capital letters, had an arrow running through them and the "A" in "PEARSON" was pointed at the top as opposed to rounded or flat. For some reason the year 1938 or 1948 is popping into my head...

Are there any Ben Pearson guru's out there that can help me out. The website I saw this spring seems to be dead. I'm not interested in the value, just the year they were made. Ok, maybe a little interested in the value if you have an opinion, but they're not for sale....

Thanks in advance for the help.

Merry Christmas!

Scott
