Default Teflon tape question

I am trying to use teflon tape around the breechplug threads, but I am having trouble getting the plug installed.

With teflon tape wrapped around the threads clockwise, I am able to screw the plug into the barrel fairly easily for the first half of the length of the plug. For the last half of the plug, it becomes increasingly very difficult to screw the plug into the barrel, and then it is impossible (even with a alot of muscle) to get the plug installed completely. Is this how it should be? Even if I could get the plug screw in all the way, I am concerned that I will not be able to get the plug unscrewed after several shots.

I would be grateful for any thoughts or suggestions on how folks get the telflon tape to work for their breechplugs.

I am using pink teflon tape on a breechplug for a Knight LRH. I am wrapping the threads only 1 time with the tape; I am not double wrapping the threads.

Thank you in advance.
