I am trying to hunt most importantly deer. I would really like to go after a bear. So I really just wanted a caliber that I can do anything with. As far as terrain woods and not sure on distance, never gone hunting. What does everyone recommend?
Dont listen to the guy at the rifle shop, hes probably got some short mag thats been sitting in the shop for quite some time that he is trying to off to someone that doesnt know any better. The 30-06 is a great caliber, probably one of the best, if not the best all arround caliber ever produced, capiable of killing anything in North America with the proper bullet and good shot placement. Also you can find 30-06 ammo no matter what part of the U.S. you are in.
