it doesnt really matter if its rolled upin a bucket, just make sure the whole hide is under water, you can put plastic milk jugs full of water or something plastic to wieght the cape down, dont use rocks or bricks, ive heard they can screw up the PH of the pickle. once in awhile just move the hide around in the pickle to make sure its getting into everything, good luck.
