The only thing about the Nosler is the lack of presence in the aftermarket whereas something like the Savage 110 or Remington 700, two rifles which many people consider to be lame or "boring", offer a lot of opportunities for customization. Also, for $1500 you could just about build your own long range rig, so to me the Nosler is neither fish nor foul. I know you didn't mention it, but you could also look at the Remington 700P in .300 WM, which is purpose built for long range sniping/shooting, it is around the price of the Savage.
