Default Schoharie County Buck May Be Record.......

Bob Bensinger of Central
Bridge shot what the experts
believe is a record buck at
about 7am on Saturday, November 20, By Bob Bensinger.
The 10-pointer weighed in
at about 160 pounds at Bleau’s
Deer Processing in Gallupville.
According to Mr.
Bensinger, an Encon officer
who looked at the deer said it
was about 4 ½ years old, but
had the rack of a 6 year-old.
Harry Beninati, a taxidermist
who does work for
Cabela’s, told Mr. Bensinger
it’s the biggest deer he’s seen
locally in more than a decade.
Mr. Beninati rough-measured
the buck to be in the
173 class and plans to display
it at a number of shows.
The rack measured 21¼
inches on the inside beam and
25 inches on the outside. The
girth averaged 5-5¼ inches
and the neck, 21 inches. Two
of the tines were broken and
had three small stickers.
Mr. Bensinger shot the
monster at 80 yards using a
Remington 270 auto with Winchester
Supreme 140 gr. Hollow
point polycarbon bullets.

I will post a picture once I get one, or go to timesjournalonline. You can only see it if you have a subscription however

Cheers and Deers,
Adam
