My stepfather shot a 742 in 243 for several years and killed a lot of deer with it. He sold it to a guy that worked for him and he used it for several years. We lost track of it after the employee shot himself (I don't think it was with that rifle).

243 is a good round for semi autos. I have a BLR in 243 and love it.
