I was in my stand during archery season this year. I was set up on the power lines. I noticed something crossing about 30 yards from me, it was a bobcat. When it hit the tree line it came right down towards me. It got about 5 feet from the tree I was in and I stood up in my stand. It stopped and just stared at me for what seemed like forever, then just turned and walked away looking over its shoulder at me. Was pretty cool.
During rifle season this year I stepped out of the pines overlooking a beaver pond. I was just standing there looking around. I heard something and looked down at my feet and there was an otter standing there looking up at me.
Few years ago I was in my stand and had a owl fly a foot away from me, then land in a tree about 15 feet and stare at me for awhile.
A few of my encounters while hunting.
