I had what looked to be a young great horned owl land in a tree in front of my ladder stand a few years back during archery season. The tree was ten or so feet higher than my stand. I was in full camo with head net on and my hands were on the gun rest bar of my stand. The owl was looking all around and I decided to move my finger to see if he would catch the movement. He locked right in on my finger, so I moved it again. He swooped right down like he was going to take my finger and freaked me out! I swooshed my arm towards him and he landed on another tree branch right above me and tried to figure out what I was. I took my headnet off and he flew away. He had great big talons on his feet and I got a real good look at them, LOL!
