The homemade powders I have seen were very poor quality. Also the danger factor in making it is really not worth the risk when you can purchase black powder in bulk for the price. Also if you decide to do such a thing, your insurance company and I am sure you local law enforcement would be very interested in your new hobby. What I am trying to say it... its just not worth the risk or bother.
