Default Early Morning PA 8 Down

Opening morning in Pennsylvania and for me atleast, it was a great day. As the dusk turned to pink and legal shooting hours began a doe, fawn and spike greeted me at 6:50AM. A perfect start.

A few texts back and forth with a buddy and it was time to get real. Around 7:30 I wanted to throw a lip, but skipping breakfast left me hungry so I busted out half of a sandwhich I had made earlier in the morning. I get three bites deep and I notice movement. I stuff the sandwhich in my mouth, scope out the deer and notice a dandy buck. He took just a few more steps and I stopped him just before he went behind a bundle of trees. The 30-06 barked out and the deer fell to the ground.

Great way to start the season. Now I'm hoping my dad and brother can do the same!

Here he is.
