RE: farthest a deer ran that u found it? just curious????????
I have tracked several with my dog for a great distance.one for over a mile and several more 3/4 to a mile. all were bad hits,but found them.
A buddy and myslef trailed a doe I shot several years ago for over a mile." BAD" hit on my part.we found her in a large sink hole.the coyotes had already eaten all the insides out(guts,heart,and lungs.)it was spots every 30 to 40 feet.took 4 hrs.
that was my bad hit.the only one I have had.I have saw deer with ham shots go 4 to 500 yards.some only 50 yards.
with out my dog we would have lost a bunch of deer.I have people call me all times of the night to help.one guy shot one at 7:30 am,didn' t call me till 4:00pm.it was slow going,we did find him,it was a gut shot.
the most important thing is to never give up,if there is blood or sign.
