Well the Blues continue,,,,,after Days of what seems like never ending High Winds, I went out again this Morning to greet our approaching Lake Effect Snow Storm and yes High Winds.
I figured mabey with the approaching Front the Deer would be moving. As I get about 150yds from My Stand I see Deer standing underneath it, barely light enough to shoot yet and with the Snow really comming down I scope them and one is a good 8pt with some Does, too windy to shoot offhand and no rest in sight the Deer move on, rest of the Morning No Deer Sightings.
I sit untill Noon and decide to leave (should have stayed) but why the Winds were blowing at 40mph+++ and the Snow was comming down hard, I left. Walk 2 miles to My Truck and when Im almost to it I spot what I think is a Deer in the Golden Rod about 40yds from My Truck. I look through My Scope at the object, yep it's a Deer, Dead I think, covered in Snow and musta been shot and not recovered. I walk to it and get about 10yds away and the Dead Deer gets up and runs away, A Big Doe, no shot I was'nt ready. Leave and go Home.
Come back after Lunch and when I get back to My Stand there's Fresh Tracks in the Snow from probably the same Buck and Does that I saw in the Morning, should have stayed all Day like I know and usually do, but I did'nt. Sit all afternoon in the Snow and Wind, No Deer sightings, walk 2 miles back to Truck.
I LOVE DEER HUNTING! I really do, Wifes at Home Laughing and Warm watching TV, the rest of that story later........
