Yep, wild hogs are pretty nasty critters. i've seen hogs tear up an acre or two of wheat in one night. Wild hogs chase deer away from feeders and off game plots. They foul the ponds and water holes. They also kill fawns when they find them.
i like to shoot hogs in the ear, under the ear or between the ear and eye when i'm carrying a .22 magnum, a .22 Hornet or a .223. With the larger caliber guns i often shoot them low just behind the shoulder: A hogs heart and lungs sit much lower in the body than those of a deer.
