It was in the 40s with a little wind in oklahoma this morning. I had been in the stand only thirty minutes when a small buck with only half a rack came through(passed). About thirty minutes later three does came in. They walk around to behind my treestand and stood there. I then heard something running and I looked up to see a nice 8 point running out of the brush into my shooting lane. I thought the does weren't looking at me so i drew back my bow but when i did one of the does saw me and they blew. The buck took off running but I managed to stop him but as my luck goes he stopped in a spot where a branch was in my way. After standing there a while he ran away. Later I tied my rope to my bow and let it down to the ground. As I was climbing down the ladder I looked up and a nice buck was just strolling on through.....I felt dumb at that moment. I climbed back up and set in my stand for a bit longer. Happy with what I had seen I climbed down and called it a day. Hunting is getting good! Hopefully I'll have the same luck tomorrow.
