Yes, it's mighty funny how you can remember the first time you hear a gobble in the woods. I was very lucky(and still am) to have members of my family who were from the old school and taught me a few select secrets on turkeys and from a brief working stint with Sanderson Farms in Collins, Ms become friends with Preston Pittman who really taught me how to put birds over my shoulder on a consistent basis. I wonder haveme1, have you hunted around Macon or Portersville? We (family) own 410 acres between Portersville and Boyd right on the MS/Al line. God's country indeed. In fact Toxey Haas (Mossy Oak)has purchased 223 acres next to us. I don't know about other areas of the country but this is where the true turkey hunters were educated and crowned.
