I have already stocked up on a few lures that I am wanting to try out this fall and winter. Some I have already started using, and others I haven't. Anyways, what I was hoping is that some of you could post up what your favorite fall lures were, or what some of the new lures that you will be trying out this fall/winter are. All the lures shown are in the colors that I am using.
The first is a new plastic from ZOOM, its a SWIMMING fluke with a paddle tail. Thus far, I have had fantastic results with this lure on a 5/0 Weighted EWG Gamakatsu hook. I cast it out as far as I can, and peel off line as I let it sink to the bottom on its own. The lure slowly sinks to the bottom in a circular path with the paddle tail "swimming" all the way down. When I catch a fish with this approach, most of the time there is weight on the line when I reel up the slack and I simply set the hook.
Hand Tied Har Jig
These just came in the mail this week so I haven't had a chance to use them, but I am looking forward to giving them a whirl. I think the hair will help slow down the fall and keep the lure in teh strike range longer. Also, I am hoping the fluctuations of the hair will tantalize the bass into biting, haha.
Compact Spinner Bait
I really liked the looks of the lure, and when you purchase it, you have the option of selecting whatever blade style you want, the number of blades, the size of the lure, skirts, everything. With that many options, how can you say no?
Rapala X-Rap
Looking to try out this suspending jerk-bait along ledges into deeper water, or around some mid-level structure. I have fished it a few times, but I haven't caught anything with it yet.
