Getting back into bowhunting, GWW or Day One
So I finally got back into bowhunting this year, after not hunting for 8-9 years(since high school). I've been reading quite a bit on the forum trying to learn some useful stuff, and I figured I better sign up, seems like a neat community on here.
This season so far has been more scounting than hunting since I am new to the area (Saranac Lake NY), but I got a few spots I feel real good about. I hunt with a longbow from the ground, maybe a treestand in the future but all the areas I've been hunting are pretty remote and on state land, so hauling a tree stand around at this point doesn't seem feasible.
I was looking for some help on updating my camo clothing since it is in hurting shape, old military surplus stuff and crappy cabelas stuff that barely fits.
I am debating between ASAT from day one camo (in fleece or bucksuede), or fall brown wolfskin from gray wolf woolens. At this point time and money aren't much of an issue I would rather pick someone out and be set up well for next year than buy something crappy for the rest of the season. I have fabric samples from jeff at GWW, still waiting on samples from greg at day one. I really like the browns, tans, and blacks of both patterns and I am looking to get something I can wear for the whole season. Warmth also isn't much of an issue since I am a avid hiker/climber/skier and have enough patagonia layers for any condition.
I have read most of the posts on GWW/predator camo/ASAT but there hasn't been much talk on that stuff lately so I wanted to hear some opinions on what works better.
