With a bit of practice, one can become very good at judging a tree so that the initial adjustment will be very close to level at final height. On some occasions, I have adjusted my Summit on the fly if my estimate was wrong. It's not very difficult. Be sure to wear a safety harness and also that both sections are tied together if you do this.
