Haven't done either this season but two seasons ago the day was getting late and I had only seen a couple does in the distance so in a last ditch effort I did a little rattling and within 3 minutes or so a buck came in at almost a slow run looking for a fight. Once he stepped into a shooting lane I gave him a little grunt and dropped him. Now he's on my wall... If the conditions are right and the deer are in rut, rattling can be very effective! Probably a little early for rattling this season but give it a few more weeks and it will be prime.
