A member from my hunting team, Joe Pence, is from Lima, he told me that he never hunted in Lima (Allen County) very often but did a lot of hunting in Auglaize and Putnam County. Joe told me that unlike the Dayton area there is not a lot of public hunting land around there so you have to rely on your ability to get permission from land owners.
