It was relatively warm on Friday with a super bright full moon and really windy. The wind didn't die down until around 5pm. I had four does eating acorns within 15yds from my stand for around 15 minutes until a 9pt graced me with his presence and got within 30yds. My 300 grain XTP did the trick. My buddy was in a blind I set up on the same property overlooking an old abandon field. He watched two small bucks fight within 25 yds of him and had three does eating acorns around the blind. One even got so close that he said he could've reached out and smacked it. I'm convinced that the deer were out all night with the full moon, but with the wind, they were too on edge to get out for a mid day snack. This made them come out in full force when the wind started to die. I think that's the first time the wind or a full moon has worked in my favor.
