We have Rios and Rio Hybrids and Easterns... and 85% of the birds in Kansas are Rio Hybrids.
I hunted with Rob Keck a few years back with the Kansas Gov 1 shot turkey hunt and he said that the habitat, the NWTFs wildlife fund, our state chapters funding, and so on and so forth have generated huge numbers of birds...
I've persoannly noticed though that it depends on our spring... we have huge bird kills in the spring some years due to the temperature and the birds molting off feathers..
The Biologist said this year is awesome for both Quail and Turkeys.
