The .270 is a great round. You won't be disapointed in your selection. just don't buy a remington 710 or 770. They are junk. If I was buying and wanted a quality gun without breaking the bank, I would get a Savage. The scopes on a package deal aren't the best, but they would get you by for a while till you could get a better one on your gun. Good luck with whatever you choose.
