Default RE: Ruger MK II Pistols

Ok, I' ll probably get the same response as I do at comp.s, but I' ve got a MKII with a 6" or 7" standard bbl (forget which length right now-some of the guys I comp with call it the lil' *W*itch gun, since I' m the only standard bbl/fixed sight there). I absolutely LOVE mine. I' ve done a little slicking on it, and I' ve reduced the trigger pull slightly (my take up was about as heavy as my break). It' s only jammed twice, once after I fired over 1000rnds in a day (no, I didn' t burn the bbl, it took ALL day) and once when I shot a coon inside a chimney and the bolt hit a brick before fully cycling. It' s really accurate, I think that' s what always get' s the guys riled up at the comp.s, the POA and POI aren' t the same, but I' m used to compensating. I really like the fact that they' re so easy to field strip too (I think it' s funny that they sell field strip kits for them though, since they already do!!), while coon hunting, getting things in your action or getting your gun wet is easy, so keeping a bit of oil and a pistol rod on me is an easy alternative to quitting early. I' ve had a bull bbl too, but didn' t like the increased weight for the little improvement in accuracy it gave.
