Portable and climbing don't go together for me. When I hunt, I use portables only. I do have a climber, and its in my back yard tree to practice from ! A portable stand is

C)quiet and easy to put up
D)you can put them in about any tree around, not just the ones that are five gallon bucket size and limbless.
E)you can hide a portable from the deer, a climber seems to stick out like a sore thumb
