Finally got out
Well, its been a long time posting on here. I've been so busy with archery equipment getting ready for the season this coming Saturday. I took out my T/C Cherokee .32 cal and my old Knight .50.
Shot the Knight first. Last time I had it out I had her sighted in at 1" high at 100 yds. Set the target at 50 yds and loaded her up with her favorite 90 gr of Pyro RS and 300 gr shock wave with a Harvester CR black sabot. First shot 2" high, 12 o'clock. Perfect. Second shot cut the first hole and the 3rd completed the cloverleaf. Happy as could be.
Next the Cherokee. I don't know who it was but I remember they loaded there .32 up with 20 gr of FFFg. My 35 gr charge although OK was not what I thought the rifle was capable of. So I loaded up some tubes with 20 gr of FFFg and shot 3 PRB without swabbing (I forgot my cleaning rods). Walked up to the target (those 32 balls are hard to see at 50 yds). Damn, all 3 balls almost went into the same hole about 1/2" left of center. Made a minor sight correction and fired one more and hit dead center. Looks like I found my squirrel rifle. I was one happy camper.
Wonder if this load will drop a turkey? Any thoughts?
The only thing that ticked me off today is when I got home and was cleaning the Knight, I got it all cleaned up, turned around to grab an oil cloth to wipe it down and dropped the action/scope from the work bench onto the rubber pad on the concrete floor. Didn't ding it but now I have to take it out tomorrow and see if its still on.
