If you just need a light to see around camp, a cheap one will do...If you need one to get you out of the woods when you are a few miles back, get a beter one...
Actually, we are extremely lucky...We have a wider selection of flashlights than ever before...We also have better flashlights than ever before...
For years, a Coleman was the best light to use for tracking...We also used 4 cell MagLights...Now, I use a Coast LED light that I bought from Lowes Hardware...It was about $45, it runs off 3 AAA batteries, is extremely bright but the best feature is it's beam is adjustable...I've tried some LEDs that were so bright the light bounced back to your eyes and blinded your tracking vision...
With this light, the blood glows, making tracking easier...
If you need a cheap light, buy one, but the better ones have their place as well...
