The first time I went to Canada, I went to a friends camp. He pretty much turned us loose to do as we pleased. In return, we ran all his baits that week and fixed some mechanical issues he had.

We were totally green to bear hunting. We went at it like deer hunting. One guy stayed on stand all day for the first 3 days. He saw like 25 different bears...some of which were obviously repeats. He killed a 300 pound boar the 4th day at 11am. I killed one at 8:30 in the morning. The other 2 guys killed right at dark.

The locals up there were astounded that we saw bears in the morning. We didn't know any better...and now he encourages his hunters to hunt am and pm.
