Here in Kentucky I start making them around the last two weeks of October. I have used drippers with good luck however, last year I started using Ever calm and VS-1. I would bust up the ground with a old hand rack from the garden the then shave off some VS-1 into it with a stick. I would place the small stick at the back of the scrape. Next I place Ever calm on the licking brach above it. Deer hit the ones I made and real tore up ones I found that deer had made. The Ever Calm seems to keep deer from getting all nervous and such when comeing into areas I have it in. You can go to www.bloodtrails.net and look under the thread Hear It From The Pro next month they have a interview with Doug Roberts who made the stuff. You can check out the lures at www.bordercrossingscents.com.
