and have had much sucsess....I picked 2 stands w/ the wind blowing correct during the rut. What I mean by that is, in Michigan where I hunt, the wind "usually" 1OCT - 1 NOV would predominantly blow from the SW. I would "not hunt" those stands, but, would "bait" those stands every day, wearing "doe in heat scent pads on my boots" (remember 1 OCT - 1 NOV). I would make "mock scrapes" starting 1 OCT thru 1 NOV freshening said scape every "other" day. When the wind changed (predominantly to the WEST and or NW (RUT), I would then hunt those stands. I got 8 of my 14 bucks this way. They followed the sent pad trail and got on the old scrapes nose down and didn't look up or around. My therory is, the scent was there, but not strong enough to alarm, and it set a pattern. GOOD LUCK! And
