RE: $$$$broadheads
I' ve shot alot of broadheads. Some were jokes that never should have been produced. I still get a kick out of serrated broadheads and other goofy designs, like one of my first broadheads that had a spiral built into it (supposedly so it could corkscrew thru the animal) that are just plain inefficient. If it rips, it doesn' t cut, and doesn' t penetrate. I want something that' s gonna cut all the way through.
I shot Cabela' s broadheads for awhile because they were very close in design of the Thunderheads and a little cheaper. But, like you, I' m more willing to pay a premium price for quality stuff. That' s why I shoot nothing but Thunderhead 100' s. They are accurate, sharp, and that chisel point will bust some bone if need be. But, it all boils down to personal preference.
