I am somewhat new to muzzleloading and have a question about what conicals to use for hunting whitetails this fall. I have a .50 cal T/C Hawken and have been shooting 75 gr of 777 using the T/C 275gr maxi-hunters with decent accuracy at 50-70 yards. I was wonder if the 275gr maxi-hunter would be too light for a whitetail, or if I should use the heavier 350 gr maxi-hunter, or the 385 gr Hornady Great plains conical. Any suggestions or input would be great, thanks. Austin.
