I' d like to see them do away with all of them and go back to simply 10, 8, 5 scoring. Less stress and more archers would feel they could compete at this level.
Sure there would be shootoffs, but isn' t that half the fun?

What did we ever do back when the scoring was 10, 5???!!! Oh my god![&:][

Answer---there were more people in the shootoffs, more people made a day of it and made new friends too, especially on the local level. Plus, it allows more people to compete at the " top" level-----instead of them being blown out by 40-50 points and having the same 10 shooters in the top every week (ho-hum), it gives more people more incentive to try and compete if they are that much closer to the top, thus they will keep coming back and numbers will grow . The local level shoot participation has dropped significantly in many areas simply because most do not have the time to become a " machine" and shoot 20 up each week. If they feel they cannot truly compete, they won' t be there, that simple. If the scoring is easier across the board, more of the average archers will come out of the woodwork and play. Doesn' t take Mr. Wizard to figure this one out... The Pros will still be there, but it may throw a little extra excitement onto things for them, as well... My feeling is that if the local participation continues to drop, eventually it will reach national level too, and soon it will all fade away... Gotta make it enticing for the average Joe bowhunter to come back out and play, and quit catering to the top 10% only! Otherwise that is all the IBO and ASA will eventually be left with, and soon that won' t be incentive enough for those even truly addicted.
Make the formats easier, make the overall experience as comfortable and as relaxing as hunting camp, and the numbers will grow back at local levels, and thus the national attendance will see the effects of this over a few years and the bigger shoots will prosper. Otherwise, IMHO the numbers will drop at national levels very soon also. (if they haven' t already) Just my own thoughts, Pinwheel 12
