permethrin is the chemical of choice.
the cheapest way to do it is go to kmart or some other similar store and look for concentrated permethrin. just follow the mixing directions, with water, and put into a spray bottle. spray on clothing and let dry.

Commercial product that works very well is Repel but much more expensive than the concentrate
