I thought maybe I crushed the wood in the forearm when I overtightened the sling bolt trying to get it tight, however, I bought another forum and it's got the same issue. Is there a way to fix this? I've also read online that this is a very common issue with these guns.
Your problem doesn't sound like a tightenign issue but a forarm fit.
Your forearm is loose and rattling it sounds like, so everytime you hold it, its different and different pressures on the barrel. I know my forearm is tight to the reciever, but not too tight.
Its better if it is too tight. Only thing I can suggest is try a new forarme from like boyds
Saw one unfininished the other day

Another option is to add accraglass to one and sand out whats not needed.
