First off,you do not transfer KE for bowhunting purposes. That is a gun hunting term.We are trying to cut our way through an animal.
The only time we really even concern ourselves with KE or momentum is on a heavy bone hit (or thick hyde )and mainly the shoulder hits which take extreme energy levels to penetrate through anyway.
Ribs can cause some issue on really low energy setups but I believe that not to be an issue for you.
I shot my best buck with a bow set at 53#'s due to shoulder issues as well. This bow was only rated at 305 fps IBO and was in the 240 fps range with hunting arrow at my 28" draw length.
I agree with the above.Stay away from speed bows.Draw cycles will do more harm than good.
My son shot completely through his buck last year with a 40# bow at 23" draw length. The arrow stuck in a tree on the other side.
Find something comfortable and imo, build a high foc arrow with a cut on contact type head and have fun.
