I've never planted any of the Chards for a deer food plot, I'm sure they'd eat it! I've grown several varieties in my garden over the years and its very easy to grow. It's closely related to beets and isn't very cold hardy like some of the brassicas. It also grows fast and fairly tall, which could be a problem with clover, especially certain varieties.

Evidently you've got a source for cheaper seed than I do also. I couldn't imagine growing much of a plot for the price I pay. lol

Now that I think about it, my seed comes from WI, a place in Randolph, WI as a matter of fact.

You could give it try. I'd like to know how it works out if you do.

(and your seed source lol)
