Depends why are you trapping them so early. Is it to train pups? Or are they a nuisance where you are.
I use jams/jellies or maple syrup, mollassas just anything you would use to bait bear with also liquid smoke in my box traps if i dont have one the next day will will the day after. I used this on one farm had 2 traps set out for 13 days caught 23 coon. If your training and need a spot in the woods use dry cat food or let corn soak in water for a couple days.
